Authorized support is quoted after an assessment. VHS, cassette, vinyl and similar media are priced by format, condition and partner costs. Storage media is separate unless included in your estimate. If a drive refuses to wake up, there’s no charge for that device. We’ll explain the next steps and recommend a recovery option when possible.

Do I need to organize everything first?
No. A box of mixed devices is normal. We begin with an inventory and help decide what is worth including.
Can you work with a deceased family member’s devices?
Sometimes, when you have clear legal authority and the devices are accessible. We verify authorization before accepting estate-related work.
Can you recover a broken hard drive?
Stillframe Works is an organization and preservation service, not a clean-room recovery lab. If specialized recovery is needed, we can discuss a qualified partner and costs before anything leaves our care.
Do you keep a copy of my archive?
Only for the limited project period agreed in writing. Your final agreement will explain retention and deletion timing clearly.
